Cortez Pest Control

Cortez Pest Control: The German cockroach is one of the most common roaches found in apartment houses, restaurants, and hotels. German cockroaches (eggs included), are brought inside or hitchhike on man’s belongings, luggage, boxes or packages. A large German roach population will produce a foul odor. These roaches prefer moisture, food, and warmth. Sanitation measures are critical in controlling German roaches. German roaches can be a serious health hazard in restaurants.

All it takes is bringing in one egg capsule, and in six months you will have an infestation.

German roaches are mainly seen during the night. If you see these types of cockroaches during the day, there is a substantial infestation present. They also leave excrement droppings that look like black pepper. It is important to take note of the location of the excrement to treat in these areas, however, remove it with a vacuum cleaner as soon as possible. The bacteria from these excrement droppings have been known to trigger asthma and allergies. The majority of the roach population is found in the kitchen or bathrooms.

One of the best ways to get rid of German Roaches is place out a high-quality roach bait like Invict Gold to kill the adult German roaches and an insect growth regulator (IGR) like Tekko Pro to stop the reproduction of roaches. We have both products in a kit , Invict Gold Roach Kit for savings.

For those who prefer to spray, use German Roach Spray Kit. It combines Advion WDG insecticide with Tekko Pro IGR (Insect Growth Regulator). After spraying this liquid combination into cracks and crevices, use the Stryker 54 aerosol to flush out the hiding roaches on the recently sprayed surface.

German Roaches & Sanitation

When beginning your German roach control program, sanitation is one of the first things to consider. German roaches only need a small amount of food to sustain them.

  1. Remove indoor trash or keep them emptied.
  2. Keep trash dumpsters clean.
  3. Make sure food is not left in sink strainers and frequently run the garbage disposal.
  4. Food containers should be sealed.
  5. Keep dishes clean, no residue of food remaining.
  6. All kitchen appliances (microwaves, toasters, ovens, refrigerators, and stoves) should be maintained in a clean condition so that it is food free and grease-free.
  7. All pet food needs to be picked up.
  8. No food left out in the open.
  9. Sweeping or vacuuming of any food particles or crumbs.
  10. Get rid of empty soft drink bottles, paper bags, and cardboard boxes.

Inspection: Look for Evidence

When inspecting for German cockroaches, thoroughness is very important. It is important to place the baits and IGR’s or insecticides as close to their runways and harborages as possible.

Cortez Pest Control

Florida has so many treasures – offering the old and new, authentic and charming, well known and yet to be discovered. Finding them is one of the joys of living in the Sunshine State. Whether it’s a refreshing, bubbly spring, a quiet pine flatwood forest, a secret cache of sand dollars on a hidden beach or a tucked-away restaurant featuring the freshest seafood, you know when you have found the real thing.

For those who enjoy Florida discoveries, one of the most beloved secrets is found an hour south of Tampa. Bradenton’s Cortez Village offers genuine and historic charm as one of the last remaining fishing villages in Florida.

Hugging the mainland shore of Sarasota Bay, just a bridge away from the sparkling Gulf of Mexico, is a small, timeless community that truly embraces its maritime heritage. No high-rises here, just little cottages and homes and businesses lining narrow neighborhood streets. Locals proudly build and refurbish boats in their front yards where towering rows of crab traps are stacked ready for the next fishing trip. Little has changed since last century. In fact, not much has changed since the village was first settled in the 1880’s. Cortez Village is firmly ensconced in the National Register of Historic Places and the people here are dedicated to preserving its legacy.

A rarity for sure, Cortez continues to exist as an off-the-beaten-path outpost, anchored by a nearby 95-acre wildlife preserve, a local historical museum dedicated to preserving its cultural heritage and some of Florida’s best, and freshest, “dock to table” seafood restaurants.
